Northern NY growers produce a wide range of horticultural crops: fruits, cold-hardy grapes & wines, vegetables, ornamentals, and greenhouse crops. The region enjoys ever-increasing consumer interest in local foods and locally-grown crops.\u00a0 The farmer-driven Northern New York Agricultural Development Program\u00a0has funded projects to advance the use of season extension production techniques for growing everything from salad greens and tomatoes to berries and fresh-cut flowers; to investigate and now support food hub development;\u00a0and to establish and recently to revitalize the cold hardy grape research nursery at the Cornell University Willsboro Research Farm in Willsboro on Lake Champlain.<\/p>\n
