Northern NY Dairy Institute Start-Up Dates Adjusted for Malone
and Chazy
Northern New York - Time, tide and corn harvest wait for no man, so to
accommodate farmers chopping corn the Northern NY Dairy Institute
organizers in Malone and Chazy have postponed their start-up dates. The
Institute’s first course is focused on dairy cow reproduction management
and will begin October 19th in Malone at the Franklin County 911
Emergency Services Building and October 21st in Chazy at W.H. Miner
Agricultural Research Institute. The new registration deadline is
October 9th.
The Cornell Cooperative Extension associations of Northern New York and
WH Miner Institute are coordinating the new Institute offering farmers
the opportunity to refresh or develop new skills. The Institute is
funded by the NY Center for Dairy Excellence and Cornell University’s
PRO-Dairy Program with support from Morrisville and Alfred State
Colleges, agribusinesses and the Northern New York Agricultural
Development Program.
Institute participants can earn a certificate or college credits from
Morrisville or Alfred state colleges. Completion of the courses also
qualify for FSA borrower credits.
