MINER INSTITUTE ANNOUNCES MARCH 4 DATE
FOR ANNUAL CORN CONGRESS
Chazy, NY � January 16, 2008 � The William H. Miner Agricultural
Research Institute will host its annual Corn Congress on Tuesday, March
4, 2008 beginning at 10:00 a.m. The focus of this educational event is
corn and forage crops. Corn Congress is open to the public at no charge,
with no advance registration required. Lunch is available for $5.00.
This year�s guest speaker is Dr. Limin Kung, Jr., Dairy Nutrition and
Silage Fermentation Laboratory, University of Delaware, who will be
discussing �Getting the most out of bunks, piles and bag silos� and
�Evaluating Corn Hybrids using Milk 2006 and Corn Picker�. Other topics
include �Optimizing the Starch Digestibility of Your Corn Silage� by Dr.
Rick Grant, President of Miner Institute, and �Reflections after 42
years of heat, cold, ice, wind, rain, drought and the occasional
�normal� growing season� presented by Ev Thomas, Vice President,
Agricultural Programs of Miner Institute.
Commercial exhibits open at 10:00 a.m.,
guest speakers will begin at 11:00 a.m. with about half hour
presentations each, and the event will conclude at 3:00 p.m. with door
prize drawings.
Corn Congress is held in the Miner Center
Education Building of Miner Institute and is located on Route 191, just
